Polygonum aubertii (Fleecevine - the buckwheat family) with a hedge of Callicarpa issai (Beauty berry)

I prune this Polygonum drastically every spring and also during the summer to keep it from devouring the side of the house. I let the hedge go because of all the fabulous purple berries it gives us. Eventually the Callicarpa leaves turn chartreuse giving an amazing contrast to the purple before dropping off.
